It must be a “guy” thing, but exploring construction sites was a favorite pastime of my friends and mine during our summer between fifth and sixth grades. We’d spend hours climbing up, on and over things, playing “tag” amongst the framing, or looking for just poured cement to memorialize our handprints in. The Bakersfield Blaze hosted their Bakersfield Magazine night where they played the Lake Elsinore Storm and since it was Throwback Thursday, the first 1000 fans received classic Bakersfield Indians jerseys. The Blaze were triumphant and won with a final score of 7-4, making this an exciting game and a great night for all (at least the home team, that is).
The Bakersfield Wing Festival brought hungry wing fanatics from all around the city to sample flavors from classic BBQ to wings so hot, it was like eating liquid fire. Attendees enjoyed beer and food from local restaurants and vendors while listening to live music. The popular event benefitted the Alzheimer’s Disease Association.
