Saturday, November 14, 2015, enjoy an evening of delectable wine, beer and food pairings at one of Bakersfield’s most popular charitable events, Bakersfield Uncorked.
Drought, Drought, Drought. Aren’t you tired of hearing how we’re doomed to vaporize into the haze? Hey, Bakersfield gardeners, we’re tougher than that. We’re fighters. We’re survivors. We’re not Chicken Littles, crying that the sky is falling. We will make it through this dry spell.
Hand-crafted wrought iron is a thing of beauty. For centuries it has been a feature in or around many a house and landmark to provide a unique touch of art, class, and oftentimes, safety. Be it a door, fence, gate, stairwell banister, or even the Eiffel Tower, wrought iron can turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.
Casual riders and those who are very passionate about biking it in Bakersfield gathered with all their gear and their wheels for a fun night ride together! Starting at Beach Park and then ending up at The Marketplace, participants strapped on their helmets, turned on their lights, and moved at a rate of about 10-12 mph on their journey from one part of town to another, all under the light of the full moon.
When remodeling, rebuilding, or redesigning our homes, we often focus solely on the interior and occasionally on the backyard and other outdoor projects when warranted. Makes sense, of course, because we spend our time indoors and want our homes to reflect our families and personalities. So why settle for the run of the mill vinyl blinds you can get from big box stores when you can transform your windows into more than just a way to see outside?
ARTFEST is our signature fundraiser. The evening features wine tasting from our friends in Paso Robles and a strolling dinner. The “Kidz Art” steals the show in both our silent and oral auctions.
