The California Aeronautical University held its grand opening with fun and fanfare. A ribbon cutting took place followed by a delicious lunch. Attendees were able to try out different flight simulators while touring the grounds. This world-class campus offers incredible training and educational opportunities second to none in the nation.
In celebration of being open for 75 years, the Kern County Museum threw a garden party for the ages, just like the ones that were popular the year they opened. Vintage cars were parked on the grounds while a fashion show featuring period-appropriate clothing took place. A band played music perfect for swing dancing while attendees enjoyed a catered dinner.
The Marriott at the Convention Center’s lounge and pool area came to life with bright, vibrant colors and Calypso rhythms as the Downtown Business Association hosted its May Mixer. Members enjoyed an evening of networking, appetizers, and cocktails while the Pan American Steel Drum Band played on at this themed event.
The Bakersfield Country Club was brimming with smiling faces and passionate people at the Annual Luncheon Celebration for the Women’s and Girl’s Fund. As part of the Kern Community Foundation, supporters gathered to mingle, munch, award grants, and recognize philanthropic women in our community.
Supporters of California Living Museum mixed and mingled with the zoo’s residents as CALM once again hosted its popular Beastly Ball fundraising event. Guests were free to wander the zoo in the evening, when many of the animals are more active, and enjoy drinks, live music, and up close and personal encounters with some of the zoo’s friendlier residents.
The Community Action Partnership of Kern held its 2016 Humanitarian Awards Banquet & Fundraiser at the DoubleTree by Hilton. The annual event serves to celebrate the efforts and actions of those in the community who work to improve the lives of Kern County’s residents, primarily focused on ending poverty.
