And you can’t have meat without potatoes! Rather than going through the hassle of mashing or peeling your spuds, try tiny fingerlings. They’re quick to cook and easy to eat. Plus, they’ll complement your chicken with subtle spices, rather than overpowering it.

Pinot noir and pinot grigio are two very distinctive and flavorful varietals that continue to make waves here in Bakersfield. And more specifically, if you're looking for a tasty, crisp, refreshing wine, Tony Rienzo of Mama Tosca's Ristorante Italiano recommends you welcome summer with the Italian 2006 Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio. “It's a light, summer wine that goes well with grilled fish and salads,” Rienzo explains. The Santa Margherita is a very popular wine right now and perfect since the temperature is beginning to escalate. Its alcohol percentage is also on the low end, which Rienzo says allows you to have a couple glasses with your meal without feeling the effects, but still being able to enjoy the flavor of this very affordable, very perfect summer wine.
