Alex Joya is focused on two things: providing an optimal experience for his guests and staff while they’re in his care and improving upon a legacy. “In 1992, my mom decided to open up a restaurant, La Costa Mariscos, and I was a part of it just a few weeks after it opened,” he began. As the successful business flourished, so did his role, and he now oversees everyday operations as the general manager.
His work is his passion, and that is because he cares for and appreciates both his staff and his guests. Providing patrons with the finest in Mexican cuisine and watching them become regulars makes his dedication more than worthwhile. “I love meeting new people. My primary emphasis is to provide the quality of service that everyone wants and deserves.”
His fervor has added to La Costa Mariscos’ impressive success. “We went from a small mom and pop type of restaurant to a facility that welcomes hundreds of patrons every day.” Joya and his crew have no intention of stopping there. “Our main focus is to open more locations throughout the state.”
An avid traveler and animal lover who values his family, Joya spends his time doing what he loves the most: making Bakersfield a decidedly more delicious place to be.
