Kern Allergy was started here in Bakersfield over 40 years ago. Dr. Tonny Tanus, MD, and Dr. Eric Boren, MD, are Board-Certified specialists in pediatric and adult Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. Darryl Altavas, NP-C, was added to the practice in 2015. “We take care of a variety of allergic conditions, such as asthma, eczema, hives, food allergies, sinus and respiratory diseases,” explained Dr. Tanus. Dr. Boren added that “by discovering the triggers for allergy, you are able to know what to avoid and have optimal treatment. If meds are not working or undesired, desensitization with allergy shots or drops under the tongue are available. We are also specialists in the immune system. If you need antibiotics five or more times a year, an immune system evaluation is warranted.” Three locations with most insurances accepted.
