How did you get started?
I worked with a company that provided home care services to the elderly that didn’t drug/alcohol screen. I felt this was a very important part of screening employees prior to hire as well as randomly thereafter. In 1990 I decided to open my own business which would do more background investigations as well as drug/alcohol screening. Thus Alternative Care began!
What job duties do you have?
As the owner, I have always been active in the business and see to it that the day-to-day needs are met. The office staff of Alternative Care share my passion for caring and are selective in placements of caregivers in clients’ homes.
How do you think your role and your company are helping the community?
With caregivers who are carefully screened, bonded, and also compassionate and have the skills and desire to be a part of our team, we have been able to assist many residents in their homes in any way or time needed with 24-hour awake staff.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
I feel we’re blessed as our goals, as well as our clients’/residents’ goals are met! I can honestly say that we share in loving what we are doing!
